My Words is an activity that leads to a book that supports

students in connecting known words to letters of the alphabet. Goals are:

a) Support students in identifying letters (alphabet knowledge);

b) Work collaboratively to find words to link to letters;

c) Create a personally meaningful book;

d) Re-read the book multiple times for deeper learning.

WHAT'S MY LETTER

"What’s My Letter" is a fun game that can be played at school or at home to help students make the sound-spelling connection.

a) Support students in identifying letters (alphabet knowledge);

b) Link sounds and letter names;

c) Offer a visual that connects to sounds; and

d) Engage students in listening and looking for target letters / sounds.

e) Help students make personal connections to the alphabet.

LETTER SCAVENGER HUNT

Letter Scavenger Hunt is an activity that leads to a book that supports students in connecting objects and pictures in their environment to letters of the alphabet. Through this activity students can:

a) Learn to identify letters (alphabet knowledge);

b) Engage in an interactive conversation with a peer or adult;

c) Work collaboratively to find words to link to letters;

d) Create a personally meaningful book;

e) Re-read the book multiple times for deeper learning.
